Dumfries and Galloway is a great destination for road and off-road cycling for serious enthusiasts or just for family rides. The woodlands surrounding Rockcliffe have plenty of paths suitable for bikes and the local Dalbeattie woodlands form part of the 7Stanes Forestry Commission mountain biking trails (which has routes from beginners to experts). And within easy reach are Mabie and Ae, also part of the 7Stanes network.
